What if the Church . . .
Author : Admin

May 2009 brought the "What if the Church?" movement back to Kansas City. What if the Church? was an opportunity for churches all over the Kansas City area to band together and serve our communities. Throughout a three-week period, 15 churches focused their weekend services around a passage from Micah 6. Pastors spoke on a rotation in order to bring a new, valued perspective to the Word. The challenge was to ask ourselves What if the Church . . . acted justly, loved mercy, and walked humbly?

At the conclusion of the three-week series, thousands of volunteers participated in a life-changing Serve Day. The Church gathered together and made an impact on Kansas City. Houses were painted, weeds were pulled, and needs were met. Young and old alike gave of their time and their hearts to minister to our communities. As a follow-up to the Serve Day, an estimated 3,000 people came together to celebrate what the Lord had done. They worshipped and took communion together and brought items to donate to their urban ministry partners.

The stories from Serve Day are a wonderful testimony of what can be accomplished for the Kingdom through acts of service. Check out What if the Church? to learn more about what took place!

He has showed you, O man, what is good. And what does the LORD require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God.

Micah 6:8
